Californication

Its beautiful out here. Danny and i flew in the morning after new years. Hang overs and altitude don't mix. still can't look at a coors light. Spent the first three days at my parents house in Laguna beach. No, i don't see the people from the t.v. show. Yes, its hot. Danny and i drove up to LA, went to Universal Studios an so on.

Left for Mexico on Thursday, spent some time in Tijuana, stayed in Ensenada. Good people, really good food. Met a bunch of twenty-somethings in the hot-tub. A Brother and sister from British Columbia. A group of mexican girls celebrating their friends birthday, and a cool guy named Robbie from South America. I ended up having a great night with all of them. We got lost in the beer and the cigars and the talk. I think we were in that tub for almost three hours. Conversation was varied...sex, marijuana, trailers, birthdays, capricorn vs scorpio, spanish slang, college, writing, travel...it was one of those nights. One of those nights where you realize the extent of the world haha even when the people your with seem to be the set up for a bar joke.

Drove out of mexico, waited at the border...let us pass were good people. Torn up mustang, mother, her baby in a sling around her shoulder with a styrofoam cup...but let us pass.

Stayed at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego for a couple nights. The picture of class. It's where Marilyn stayed. Old Hollywood feeling. Gorgeous room with huge balcony. Danny and i went to the beach one night. Stood on the edge of the shore. There's nothing better than the smell of Ocean air. It's healing, and i really do believe that.

Back in Laguna now, here for another two weeks. Liz comes out on Tuesday. Can't wait to see her. I miss those curly locks. indeed.
